The double kettlebell thruster is a very challenging exercise building significant gains in work capacity. The exercise combines two exercises; the double rack squat and the double press.
Teaching Points
- Hold the kettlebells in the double rack squat position
- Inhale before you initiate the rack squat
- Your elbows should remain inside your knees
- Drive through the heels with your chest facing forward
- Exhale as you initiatethe squat at the bottom position
- Keep a neutral spine throughout the movement
- Use the force generated from the squat to press the kettlebells overhead
- The arms will move up vertically
- Inhale as you press the bells overhead
- Brace your abs just before you lower the kettlebells into the rack position and exhale on impact
